1)
Here in the town of Saugatuck
I work in an inn and bar
Upstairs rooms are rented
By patrons, from all over the country
In this place called Leiendecker’s Inn
The boys tell me they’ll sell it
The Leiendecker boys who built it
They say I’ll keep my job
but my boss’ll probably be different
A man named J.F. Hall
He’ll be my new boss
Hopefully he won’t get rid of me
But I sorta hope he does
‘Cause it won’t be the same without the boys
The good ol’ Leiendecker Boys
They treated everyone like family
Everyone was like a brother and sister
They say Mr. Hall is a devil
‘Cause it just won’t be the same without those two
They were a two peas in a pod
This place will last for centuries they say
That the Leiendecker in will be here forever
But I’ll never forget the beginning
With the good ol’ Leiendecker boys
2)
Here on this fine lake
The tenants within me awake
To the sound of the birds singing ~tweet~
And the warmth of the red fire’s heat
The water shimmers like gold
And the coziness begins to take hold
Ah, yes, this is my daily life
As an inn the tenants are rife
Checking in and out every day
With the staff showing them the way
For an old inn like me
It’s easy, you see
For I’ve done this for years
Through blood, sweat, and tears
As the people walk there’s a creek
And when the sky cries down, there’s a leak
But they’ll fix me up soon
Once in a blue moon
The repairmen are snails
So when it rains we grab the pails
But it’ll be fixed
The reactions are mixed
They don’t seem to mind
Since my age is what makes me defined
Now it’s all repaired
And far better quality when compared
To how I was before
It was quite a chore
But now I'll be here for years
So lets give some cheers!
3)
I pull in my ship
To the lakeside marina
Beside the old bar
They call it Coral Gables
It’s been here a while
The place was an Inn
So they have told me before
At least one hundred
Is the age of the building
But it looks strangely modern
You can’t even tell
The modern look is a mask
The age doesn’t show
It’s like another building
Than the one I have heard of
Inside is the bar
With many different patrons
Many friends gather
To eat and enjoy themselves
Merry laughter fills the room
Hahaha! they laugh
All together, friends
Drinking and snacking
It really is quite lively
Think I’ll stay a while
Here in the town of Saugatuck
I work in an inn and bar
Upstairs rooms are rented
